Sunday, Here and Gone!

Hey from Baltimore, Maryland!! Our first day has come and gone. Sunday has been a day of orientation and a day of ministry! We started off the day with our breakfast and devotion time. After that, we headed to meet at the Gallery Church office which is really cool! We met there for about 2 hours, had orientation, ate lunch, and then walked to the Pier at Falls Point and the square at Fells Point.

After this we went meet up with the Gallery Church for their service on Sunday night at Hope Village. We got there
and started to setup for a cookout. One group stayed to setup the cookout and start grilling while the other two groups went out to tell everyone in the local projects about the cookout. I was with one of the groups that was walking and handing out fliers. It was awesome to walk around the projects and see our students talking with everyone sitting on their stoops. In Baltimore, sitting on your stoop is like sitting on your porch or in your front yard. As you walk by, you say hello and start conversations with them. Our students stepped up and began to minister. It was great to see them embrace the uncomfortable situations.

(Look at this upside down- Sorry :) )

This is only the first day so I am excited to see what God is going to do through the week. Actually, one person accepted Christ tonight because they were brought to the church service by some of our students!! This is SO awesome to see them sharing their faith and bringing people into conversations about Christ! Praise God because He has just added one to His family!!

After church, we came back to the hotel and had our download time. Students shared their hearts and we saw how they had interacted with the community! Continue to pray for us as we actually have work tomorrow! We need energy and strength that only God can provide!! We love you and miss you!!

Fells Point

So we just ate lunch at the Gallery church and then walked to Fells Point. This is a neighborhood in Baltimore that a lot of our work will be done in! There are pictures on my facebook if u want to look! We are fine and dandy!

We Are Here!!!!

We are here in Baltimore, MD safely and without a hitch!! We arrived about 10:04pm! The bus ride was good and went a lot faster than expected. The first 12 hours was fast, but then the last hour was pretty slow and seemed like it drug on while we waited to see the Best Western on the horizon.

We left the church at about 9am and drove a couple of hours where we switched bus drivers. Then we drove about an hour and a half and then stopped for lunch at Wendys, McDonalds, and Burger King. We then drove for about 3 and a half hours until we stopped for dinner at Jimmy Johns! They always advertise that they are "Freaky Fast" and they are! They fed all 41 of us in about 30 minutes. That's fast! Freak Fast!! We got back on the bus and traveled until we got into Baltimore!

We watched a couple of movies on the way here for entertainment: Hoodwinked, Emperor's New Groove, National Treasure, and Horton Hears a Who! See...I can watch more than just animated movies!

Thanks for all your prayer today and I continue to ask that you be praying for us as we continue to minister this week! I am so excited to see what God is going to do in the lives of our students and I pray that you would join us in that effort through praying for us!!! We love you all and miss you already!!

Jimmy Johns for dinner!

We are in Harrisonburg, VA! This is all of us at Jimmy Johns! We are fine and should be to Baltimore close to 10!
